How does your rate of pay compare to pilots at other airlines flying the same equipment?
There
are many variables that affect total compensation for airline pilots.
Factors such as retirement contributions, health care benefits, and
profit sharing are just a few components, in addition to hourly pay, of
a "total" compensation package. Hourly rates of pay multiplied by hours
flown, or "credit" time, has the strongest influence on a pilot's
annual W2 earnings. Therefore, Airline Pilot Central's Pay Comparison
Charts focus only on this industry standard of hourly rate multiplied
by credit time.
Because of individual pilot preference in schedules, airline equipment
utilization, crew staffing, route marketing, and other variables it
would be very difficult to provide a meaningful “average line value”
for any airline. So, for comparison purposes we offer contractual
monthly hourly guarantees and the ability to dynamically adjust credit
time for an "apples to apples" comparison. Use the slider inputs to
change values and draw your own conclusions, but remember these charts
only provide one aspect of pilot compensation.
To view the pay comparisons, you will need the free Macromedia Flash player installed on your computer. Each chart is about 250kb, so it may take a few moments to load in your browser.

*Stop the presses - we just noticed that the American Airlines and United Airlines rates do not reflect the most recent pay increases. We are aware of this and will update these charts on the next revision (that rates on the individual airline profile pages are correct). |
