GlobalX has created the Senior First Officer position, (“SFO”), to attract well qualified pilots with overseas flying experience, which would potentially qualify them as direct entry Captains with GlobalX, except that they do not have the 1,000 hours, as required under 14 CFR § 121.436.

GlobalX will offer the SFO position to certain candidates, who meet minimum requirements for PIC time and Airbus aircraft time. If hired, the candidate will initially receive First Officer pay, and upon completion of the proficiency check and the type rating, will be paid at the SFO rate, provided under Section 3.2.2 of this Addendum. However, if the Pilot does not successful complete the IOE and FAA observation, the Pilot’s pay will be adjusted retroactively to reflect the First Officer pay rate.

Pilot candidates, who are hired and complete IOE will be selected for upgrade to SFO upon review of qualifications, including the pilot’s GlobalX training records and final selection by a review board, consisting of the Director of Operations, the Chief Pilot, and the Director of Training, (“Pilot Review Board”).

The pilot must have a minimum of 4,000 hours PIC time - turbine or turboprop (minimum 30 seats) - of which 1,000 of those minimum hours must be in the Airbus A320, A330, A340, or A380. The Pilot Review Board can waive any requirement on a case by case basis, at the Pilot Review Board’s sole discretion.

** Mandatory Retirement at 65 years old.
