First impressions count

You've worked hard to get to where you are.Now that it's interview time, you should look the part. The first impression you make is critical! Here is a quick guide:

MEN

Suit:
Navy, grey, or black two-piece single-breasted suit.

Shirt:
Long sleeved, white.

Ties:

Silk, with a conservative color and pattern.

Belt:
Black, matching your shoe color

Shoes:
Polished black leather. Cap toe, wing tips or lace-ups work best.

Socks:
Color matches (or is darker than) your suit color. Socks cover calves.

More:
-Haircut within past week
-Minimal to no cologne
-Cleanly shaven
-Antiperspirant under arms
-Jewelry limited to a watch and wedding band
-Leather briefcase

*Extra Tip: A week before your interview put on your suit and stop by your local Men's Wearhouse or other men's department store. Ask the sales team if you've overlooked anything. They're usually happy to help in this, their area of expertise.

WOMEN

Suit:
Classic, conservative pantsuit or skirt suit. Black or blue is best.

Blouse:

Collared blouse to match suit, silk is always safe

Hose:

Neutral or light colored.

Shoes:
Low pumps or heels, leather. No open toes.

More:
-Haircut within past week
-Minimal jewelry
-Subdued makeup
-Antiperspirant
-Minimal to no perfume
-Briefcase or portfolio

A week before your interview put on your suit and stop by your local Ann Taylor, Nordstrom, or other women's clothing store. Ask the saleswomen if you've overlooked anything approaching your big
