A pilots association giving advice to its members is not unusual. But in a revealing news bit, an American Airlines pilots association has given some unusual advice to its members: Go fly for another airline.

The aforementioned pilots association is based in Philadelphia and specifically mentioned that pilots at the beginning of their careers should give up on American Airlines and go work for Delta.

Pay was a leading reason for this advice. The letter from the association to the pilots cited “Delta’s industry-leading pay rates” and “management’s insistence that all wholly owned employees be included in the total profit sharing pool, which reduces the profit sharing payout for American Airlines pilots by about 10%."

Most importantly, the letter cited management’s “unwillingness to improve work rules/quality of life.”

The entire letter was leaked on Twitter by user JonNYC, and you can read it here.
