Three things have recently occurred. First, early this summer Glen Engel left Goldman Sachs after 20 years of outstanding research. Second, he graciously sent me all the quarterly reports he has written dating back to 1994 this is treasure trove of historical data! Third, I told him I wanted to post his research on the web & continue his one-page analysis. He said: "Sure go for it."

Each quarter, after airline earnings are announced, others and myself will attempt to update this one-page analysis format. Depending how this is received, we hope to continue this pro-bono (free) employee educational effort.

The financial aspects of our industry will always directly impact the quality of the aviation careers we enjoy or endure. My only purpose here is to give airline employees access to understandable information about their airline, industry, and careers.

For transparency purposes, everyone should know I am a Southwest Airlines pilot and I do management consulting outside the domestic aviation arena.

Finally, I wish to thank both Glen Engel for sharing with us over a decade of his insightful analysis and Airline Pilot Central for facilitating this effort.

Sincerely,

Brad Bartholomew
